Mikros

His power is he's small, and it comes in extremely handy on many of their missions.

Mikros is one of a team of heroic Chromobots from the Chromatic Star Federation. As more of a juvenile wisecracker than his comrades, he is often paired up with the Chromobots' new human ally, Dudley, from whom he has learned the value of comic books. He is nonetheless dedicated to the pursuit of justice, with his special skills including his concealable small size and his powerful optic blast... though he has a lot less luck with his faulty jet pack.

Fiction

Mikros was a member of a trio of Chromobots from the Chromatic Star Federation. The team was dispatched to Earth on one of two spaceships, with the mission of capturing or eliminating the escaped criminal, Predator. The Chromobots issue 16 After leaving the starship, Issue 13 Mikros' jet pack failed above suburban Britain. Spotting a house, he decided it was as good a place to park as any, and glided in through the window, where he met Dudley. Issue 12 Mikros apologised for the crash landing, and introduced himself to the sputtering comic geek. Dudley had to conceal him from the being known as "Dad" before grilling Mikros on where he'd come from. Mikros' biggest concern was finding his fellow Chromobots. Issue 13

The following day – a Saturday – Dudley went for a walk through the park with Mikros concealed in a carrier bag. Mikros detected a strong Chromobot signal, and encouraged Dudley that when they rendezvoused, he ditch the embarrassing shopping bag. Before that could happen, Dudley was approached by an old tramp, and he fled the scene. Issue 14 Mikros attempted to explain that the old man was more than meets the eye, but was interrupted by the arrival of Transmute, the true Chromobot form of the vagrant in question. Transmute's psionic scan told him that Dudley could be trusted, and so Transmute beseeched him to ally with the Chromobot Empire. Issue 15 Dudley took Mikros (in the shopping bag) and Transmute (disguised as a young boy) back home with him. After dodging questions from Dudley's mum, they retreated to Dudley's room, where Transmute explained their mission. Issue 16

Two weeks later, Mikros was with Transmute and Dudley, who were searching a city, when a woman's scream alerted the boy to a kidnapping in progress on top of a building. Issue 17 Mikros made it to the rooftop slower than Transmute, but was just in time to stop Predator from killing him by using an optic blast. Mikros thought nothing of the Chromatic Star Federation intel that told him that Predator was indestructible, and tried to get into position to hit him with another blast – but Predator backhanded him, throwing him across to the edge of the rooftop. Issue 18 With just one hand, Predator picked Mikros up and threw him off the side of the building. With no time to activate his unreliable jetpack, Mikros was only saved by the intervention of Shield, who protected him with a force bubble. Mikros introduced Dudley to his comrade, but quickly drew their attention to the flash of energy at the top of the skyscraper. Issue 19

After their encounter with Predator, Dudley and the Chromobots returned to the boy's bedroom. When Shield's psionic scan revealed that Dudley's dad had been awoken by their arrival, they each scrambled to hide, with Mikros hiding under the bed. After his dad left, Dudley whispered for the other Chromobots to come out of hiding. Shield volunteered to return to their ship to update the Chromatic Star Federation, and Transmute declared that they wouldn't fail in overcoming Predator – though his allies laughed at his Humph the Cat disguise. Issue 20 While Shield was on the ship and Dudley was asleep, Mikros read the boy's comics. Shield's contact Cygnet read a report from Mikros regarding Dudley's familiarity with mutants, aliens, and robotic life-forms, courtesy of Marvel. Issue 21

Following Cygnet's intel, Dudley and the Chromobots searched the countryside in one of Shield's force bubbles for Predator. When Transmute and Shield split off from the group, Mikros was left to look after Dudley, and he thought to himself that their last encounter with Predator hadn't exactly been successful. Mikros and Dudley joined the other two when they found the unconscious body of the abducted woman, but the team was suddenly transported to a ruined city in the 26th Century. Mikros wished to himself that he should have stayed at Dudley's house reading comics. Issue 22

Transmute confirmed that they had travelled to the year 2535. Mikros sought to find out more about their surroundings, and took to the air with his jetpack. From the higher vantage point, he could tell that the wasteland was the result of a nuclear war. Despite the heavy death toll, he couldn't shake the feeling that they weren't alone. His suspicions were proven correct when he was attacked by a mutated brute. The monster spoke in alien words that Mikros found interesting. When his optic blasts proved ineffective, Mikros prepared to take the creature on hand-to-hand. Issue 23

It didn't last long – with one swipe, the brute sent Mikros flying. His hard landing alerted his cohorts to the monster's presence; Shield took on the challenge. The brute wasn't the only mutant in the wasteland, as the Chromobots were soon taken on by Predator's other creations, Rage and Menace. Issue 24 Mikros got into a fight with Rage, apologising for taking evasive action from his attacks. The fight was called off by Predator himself, who had arrived to gloat about his success in destroying Chromos Five and taking over the Earth. Issue 25

Dudley thought quickly and snatched Predator's time modulator. As the boy ran back to the time shift, Mikros and the other Chromobots held off the Mutants. Dudley was the first to get back to 1985, and Mikros was close behind. After Shield destroyed the modulator, healing the time shifts and causing Predator's future to fold in on itself, Mikros reported that Transmute had found the abducted Tessa Stone right where they left here, meaning they had time to care for her injuries. Issue 26
