Ordinary Chromobots. A Tuesday.

The Chromobots are a species of mechanical lifeforms that are unique in the universe due to their chromium composition, which produces a beautiful metallic effect in light. This appears to be connected to the location of their home planet, Chromos Five, being at the heart of a star cluster, which results in night skies that are just as bright as in daylight.

The population of Chromos Five has spread out onto other planets in the same star system, creating the Chromobot Empire. It is policed by the Chromatic Star Federation.[1] Being a techno-empire, the Chromobots have long forgone the use of nuclear weaponry.

Individual Chromobots include a Chromatic Star Federation team consisting of Transmute, Mikros, and Shield; the transmission unit's Cygnet; and the criminal, Predator.

Fiction

The Chromobots were at peace until the notorious criminal Predator escaped from their prison system. He intended to reach Earth, where he would combine the planet's nuclear armaments with Chromobot technology in order to create a super-weapon with which he could destroy Chromos Five. Two ships from the Chromatic Star Federation were dispatched to capture or annihilate Predator. One ship was manned by Transmute, Mikros, and Shield. The Chromobots issue 16

Mikros left the starship in the skies above Earth, Issue 13 but his jet pack failed above suburban Britain. He crashed in through Dudley's window. Issue 12 When Dudley grilled Mikros on where he'd come from, Mikros expressed his concern about finding the other Chromobots. Issue 13 The following day, Dudley took Mikros out of the house, concealed in a shopping bag. Mikros detected a strong Chromobot signal. Dudley was approached by an old tramp, who turned out to be Transmute in disguise. Issue 14 Transmute tracked down the pair, and beseeched Dudley ally himself with the Chromobot Empire, as the fates of two worlds were at stake. Issue 15 Back at Dudley's house, Transmute explained their mission to stop Predator. Issue 16

Predator's first objective was kidnapping nuclear arms designer Tessa Stone. Dudley and Transmute caught him in the act Issue 17 but Predator was too fast and strong for Transmute and Mikros. Issue 18 Mikros was saved from a fatal fall by Shield. During the confusion, Predator escaped with his target. Issue 19

After the encounter, the Chromobots returned to Dudley's room and took measures to avoid being found by his dad. Shield volunteered to update the Chromatic Star Federation Issue 20 and did so by contacting Cygnet. Issue 21 Cygnet's intel led Dudley and the Chromobots to an area in the countryside where they located an unconscious Tessa, but the heroes were suddenly transported to the year 2535, Issue 22 where the Earth was devastated by nuclear war. Issue 23 The Chromobots came into conflict with the Mutants, human/Chromobot hybrids created by Predator. Issue 23 Issue 24 Wrestling with Shield, the Mutant Rage told him he'd crushed many Chromatic men to death in his grip. Issue 24 The battle was called off by the arrival of Predator, who revealed that he'd successfully destroyed Chromos Five and the other worlds in the Chromatic star system. Issue 25 Thanks to Dudley's quick thinking and his theft of the time modulator, this timeline was prevented, and the Chromobots' planets were safe. Issue 26

As characters

Humph the Cat, a reader of The Transformers, Matt and the Cat issue 12 once bravely dived into battle, deciding to make the Chromobots look like boy scouts. Issue 26

Notes

  1. Given contradictory evidence, The Transformers UK Appendix is taking the simple route of putting all the police-like Chromobots under the Federation banner, and presenting that organisation as the peacekeeping force of the wider Chromobot Empire.
