Talk about a romantic entanglement.

Outwardly a prim and proper file clerk for Delmar Insurance, there's something more to Pamela Quinn than meets the eye. Though not an insurance investigator herself, she makes her own inquiries when she feels the need, with some of her contacts even having connections with the criminal underworld.

Aaron Stack, too, detects something different about her. She is so thoughtful and sweet to him in a way with which he is unfamiliar, causing him to feel unusually concerned for her wellbeing. The connection between them is something the living robot finds himself unable to compute.

Fiction

After Eddie Harris and Maggie Jones gossiped about their co-worker Aaron Stack loudly enough for him to hear them, Pamela suggested that they too could have a productive work output if they spent less time at the water cooler. In retaliation, Eddie suggested Pamela had a crush on Aaron, which she called silly. Later that day, Pamela gave Aaron the message that Byron Benjamin wanted to see him in his office. Kill Me or Cure Me

Aaron became a man possessed after Baron Brimstone stole the Sol-Mac device, ignoring all of his colleagues but Pamela. She informed him that Benjamin had managed to secure the Sol-Mac's specs. While Aaron studied the schematics, Pamela received a call from one of her contacts, who had arranged a meeting with one of Brimstone's supposed henchmen. Shortly thereafter, she met Duke Dawson in an alleyway, but he was prevented from telling her Brimstone's plans by Snake Marston crushing him to death. Pamela was knocked out by Hammer Harrison, who took her back to Brimstone's base of operations.

When the Satan Squad's operation to steal the bell from the cathedral of St. Gabriella of the Highlands went south courtesy of Machine Man, Baron Brimstone made a desperate move to ensure his escape, pushing his hostage, Pamela, from his helicopter. Machine Man detached his left arm to catch Pamela, negating gravity for her safe descent. After Machine Man apprehended the Baron and the remainder of the Satan Squad, he returned to check on Pamela, but found that his detached arm was now missing. Baron Brimstone and his Sinister Satan Squad!

Ambulance personnel arrived to help Pam, suspecting that she may have been suffering from shock. Machine Man questioned whether she had seen what happened to his arm, but Pamela admitted she was too dazed by fear to notice. As Machine Man fled from the bumbling bureaucracy of the NYPD, Pamela reflected on how he was menacing, inhuman... and yet somehow familiar...

The next morning, Pamela asked after Aaron's wellbeing after he came to work with his left arm in a sling. Later on, tired of waiting for the aloof investigator to make the first move, she invited Aaron out for dinner, but he declined due to a previous engagement. Maggie laughed that Pamela was even further beneath Aaron's attention than she was. Arms and the Robot!

After Aaron rebuffed another one of Eddie's schemes, he bumped into Pamela in the office. Noticing he seemed troubled (and perhaps that he'd been avoiding her), she asked if something was wrong. Alone Against Alpha Flight!

One day in October, Byron Benjamin called an emergency meeting to which Pamela attended. When Aaron arrived late, Pamela voiced concern that his face seemed swollen, but he brushed off the question. In the meeting, Benjamin revealed plans to unveil Delmar's new super-embassy with a costume party no Halloween, but Pamela's thoughts were occupied with Aaron's obliviousness to her feelings for him. As the meeting closed, Benjamin asked Aaron to stay behind, earning a worried look from Pamela.

The following week, Pamela attended the costume party with Maggie, Eddie, Brock Jones. As Aaron arrived late, Pamela said how they'd all been waiting for him, though Maggie told her to speak for herself. Maggie was so incensed by Aaron's low effort costume – a rubber mask paired with his regular business suit – that she pulled his "man of steel" mask off. Pamela and her colleagues boggled and then laughed to find that Aaron had a robot fright mask on underneath.

Shortly afterwards, Pamela asked Aaron to dance, but he snubbed her and disappeared into the crowd. Pamela thought to herself that his heart must have been made of steel.

She was presumably still in attendance when the partygoers were trapped in the embassy by supervillain Jack O'Lantern. After Machine Man defeated Jack, he made tracks to avoid any of Delmar's employees asking why his face looked just like Aaron's costume. Jolted by Jack O'Lantern!

  • Our esteemed counterparts at the Marvel Database will tell you that Pamela debuted in "Byte of the Binary Bug!", incorrectly conflating her with a black-haired woman at Delmar that gossips with Maggie about Aaron.
