The C.S.F. operates from whatever this thing is.

The Chromatic Star Federation is the space force (and governing body?) of the Chromobots. Its Central Control facility is based on Chromos Five, the species' home planet.

Fiction

Transmute and Mikros were dispatched by the Chromatic Star Federation to Earth, with the mission of capturing or eliminating the escaped criminal, Predator. He told the human boy Dudley that he could think of them as the police of the Chromatic Star Federation. The Chromobots issue 16

Two weeks later, Predator himself mused that it was only logical that the Chromatic Star Federation would have sent police star ships after him. His suspicions were proven correct when he was decked by Transmute. Issue 17

Disguised as a Humph the Cat cuddly toy to hide from Dudley's dad, Transmute thought to himself that he could hardly introduce himself as a representative of the Chromatic Star Federation looking like that. After the snooping parent had gone, Shield volunteered to return to the ship and give the C.S.F. a mission update. Issue 20 He did so by hailing Chromos Five Central Control; Cygnet of the transmission unit received him. She told him that the Chromatic Star Federation had detected a pattern to Predator's supposed teleports, giving Shield a lead on how to track him down. Issue 21 They did so, and were lured through a time shift to the year 2535 and an Earth that had been devastated by nuclear warfare. Issue 22 Issue 23

In this timeline, Predator had destroyed Chromos Five and the other worlds in the Chromatic star system, so things probably weren't good for the C.S.F.. Issue 25 This future was averted by Dudley's theft of Predator's time modulator and its subsequent destruction back in 1985. Issue 26

Notes

  • Quite what the Chromatic Star Federation is and does is unclear from references to it:
    • In issue 15, Transmute introduces himself to Dudley as being from the Chromobot Empire – a terminology that is dropped after this issue in favour of referring only to Chromos Five or the Chromatic Star Federation.
    • Narration in issue 16 refers to Transmute and Mikros being from the Chromatic Star Federation, though Transmute's phrasing ("You perhaps would call us the police of the Chromatic Star Federation.") suggests that not all members of the federation go out on peacekeeping missions like theirs.
    • In the next issue, Predator muses that the Chromatic Star Federation is likely to have sent "police star ships" after him, suggesting a non-police part of the Federation... but later, Transmute approaches Predator with "I am Transmute of the Chromatic Star Federation!", with no distinction as being police.
    • In the issue after that, Mikros seems to refer to the "C.S.F." as "they", as if the organisation is a separate group of which he is not a member.
Given the contradictory evidence, The Transformers UK Appendix is taking the simple route of putting all the police-like Chromobots under the Federation banner, and presenting that organisation as the peacekeeping force of the wider Chromobot Empire.
  • "Chromatic" in this context means "of or pertaining to Chromobots".
