Is he strong? Listen, bud: yes.
You may have been looking for Spider-Man (comics).

All right, let's do this one last time. His name is Peter Parker. He was bitten by a radioactive spider, and for ten[1] years he's been the one and only Spider-Man. I'm pretty sure you know the rest.

Giant robots in Oregon

Spider-Man on TFWiki.net, an external wiki

As word of the giant rampaging robots in Oregon spread, the Daily Bugle's new editor-in-chief, Joe Robertson, dispatched photographer Peter Parker to the scene, hoping Parker's experience shooting Spider-Man would lead to some exclusive photos. As the robotic fortress was surrounded by the army and the news media, Parker decided to slip into his Spider-Man suit to see if he couldn't sneak inside. His infiltration was cut short when he decided to confront a little truck that turned into a robot – though he realised the truck was a good guy when he prevented a robot fighter jet  lobbing a truck at some army men. The truck – Gears  – had been on his own scouting mission, and took Spider-Man back to the Ark  to report to Optimus Prime.

Spider-Man was introduced to the Autobots, given a primer on their conflict with the Decepticons, and was told that the Deceps had taken a human mechanic, Sparkplug Witwicky,  prisoner. By borrowing an army helmet, driving in the Jeep-mode Hound,  and acting like he owned the place, Spidey led a convoy of Autobots through the army's retreating line, allowing them to do battle with the Decepticons. Spider-Man and Gears invaded the Decepticon fortress, defeating threats like the perilous climb, the agility of Ravage,  and the shifting corridors of the base – though Gears easily ploughed through any wall in their path.

When they found Sparkplug, Spider-Man used his webbing to ensnare Megatron, though this was short-lived. In outrage, Megatron blasted a hole in the floor, causing Sparkplug and Gears to fall. Spidey caught Sparkplug with a webline, but Gears' weight and momentum was too great, and he fell to the ground, deactivated. Spider-Man was shocked by the Autobots' cavalier attitude towards Gears' death, but back at the Ark, Optimus assured him that Gears wasn't what humans would term dead. Prime was grateful for Spider-Man's assistance but could not ask him to be involved in their war and, despite being impressed with the technology of the Ark that would make even Reed Richards feel like a novice, Spidey abruptly exited, as he had a plane to catch. Prisoner of War!  Shortly afterward, Megatron would express that their experience with Spider-Man proved that not all humans were helpless, and that the Earth had unheard resources to tap. The Enemy Within!

When Machine Man ambushed the Satan Squad at the cathedral of St. Gabriella of the Highlands, one of the goons commented that at least it wasn't Spider-Man or another super-powered heavy. Baron Brimstone and his Sinister Satan Squad! Some weeks later, after wrapping up some of Jack O'Lantern's freebooters in a gym mat, Machine Man himself quipped that they were lucky they'd faced him, as someone like Spider-Man could've really done them some damage. Jolted by Jack O'Lantern!

Merchandising is his reward

Spider-Man also wore a red-and-blue costume. In 1985, The Chromobots issue 21 Dudley had at least four comic books featuring Spider-Man, Issue 12 Issue 16 Issue 20 Issue 21 and a poster of him on his bedroom wall. Issue 13 Issue 20 He also had a comic that had a title containing the letters "PET" and "SP".  Petrifying Spider-Man, perhaps? Issue 14

The same year, Buster,  Sparkplug Witwicky's son, also had a poster of Spidey on his bedroom wall. The Wrath of Guardian!  Young Sammy Harker  had at least one Spider-Man comic book. Man of Iron  In 1987, miscreant Noah Acton  wore a shirt bearing the likeness of Spider-Man's mask. Decepticon Graffiti!

Notes

Spider-Man on Marvel Database, an external wiki
  • Spider-Man appeared in The Transformers thanks to Jim Salicrup, who wrote over half of the debut four-issue limited series. Salicrup was then editor of Marvel's Spider-Man lines, and suggested the guest appearance of Spidey in The Transformers as a sales booster. Hasbro were reluctant to use Spider-Man in their toy-selling comic, seeing it as free publicity for Mattel and their toy-selling comic, so a compromise was reached: rather than feature Spider-Man in his classic red-and-blue outfit, which was readily available as an action figure, The Transformers would feature him in his black symbiote outfit, which he had already ditched in The Amazing Spider-Man issue 258  two months prior. (Incidentally, the footnote in the gutters explaining that "Prisoner of War!" takes place before Amazing Spider-Man 258 was erased from the UK printing.)
  • The joke of Spider-Man's coverage in TFUK is that, in his most prominent appearances, he is wearing his less recognisable black suit. BUT...
  • Spider-Man (in his black suit!) was pictured alongside many other Marvel heroes on the cover of Transformers U.S. issue 22,  as part of that month's celebration of 25 years of Marvel Comics.
