Predator is a Chromobot with delusions of godhood. It is not enough for him to wipe out all life on Earth; that is merely the first step, wiping the slate clean and allowing him to populate the planet with Mutants.
These hybrid creatures are part human and part Chromobot, and wholly loyal to their creator and master. Like their extraterrestrial ancestors, the Mutants vary in size and appearance, and each has their own set of superpowers.

- In the wider Marvel universe, Mutants are mutated humans
born with the X-Gene, typically featured in comics about the X-Men. - The terminology for the Mutants varies:
- The "Next Ish" teaser in issue 23 refers to them as "Predator's mutants".
- In issue 24, Rage identifies the Brute as a "mutant", "like us". Dudley also refers to Menace as a mutant without a qualifier.
- A narrative box in issue 25 calls them "Chromatic mutants".
- Dialogue in issue 26 again calls them "Predator's mutants".
- We've chosen to call them "Chromatic Mutants" to most clearly signify how they differ from regular (Marvel) Mutants.
