Notes
- A "002" in the same panel with Stringer's signature indicates that this, the fourth strip published, was the second strip he drew. The first strip created was published in issue 15, and the third strip was printed fifth in issue 19.
Artwork and technical errors
- The King says Aggrobot is "Light-years ahead of all other designs!" It's a play on the phrase "years ahead", as in something futuristic, but a light-year is a measure of distance, not time... but it still kind of works? You win this round, Stringer.
Continuity errors
Continuity notes
- This early strip features an inhabitant of Planet Zip that is not a Zipponian. These would be phased out as the strip continued.
- The King has a rotating set of headpieces in these early strips – today's is a television aerial.
Real-life references
- The idea of an elastic band holding a humanoid figure together might be descended from the elastic stringing construction of the original G.I. Joe action figures, which Stringer may have been familiar with from Palitoy's imported Action Man.[1] This was a precursor to the 3.75 inch A Real American Hero
line, which used rubber "O-Rings" as part of their torso construction (and which necessitate DIY replacement some twenty years later due to rubber degradation).
