The King's latest invasion attempt is a non-starter.

Synopsis

Ranting, raving, and with his arm in a sling, the King returns home, followed by a small army of Zipponians in various states of injury. Addressing a wide-eyed technician, he demands to know why this shambolic invasion attempt received no help from their new destruct-robot, Kog the Unstoppable. He is flabbergasted to hear that they couldn't get Kog the Unstoppable started.

Notes

  • A "003" in the same panel with Stringer's signature indicates that this, the fifth strip published, was the third strip he drew. The second strip created was published in issue 18; the next numbered strip is the tenth, and was printed in issue 27.
  • One of the King's men appears to have lost both of his legs in battle and is hopping along on crutches. Bleak!

Artwork and technical errors

Continuity errors

Continuity notes

  • This early strip features three little quadrupedal spider guys amongst the King's forces. Non-Zipponian inhabitants of Planet Zip like these would be phased out as the strip continued.
  • The King has a rotating set of headpieces in these early strips – today's is a simple (and bent) antenna.
  • Stringer would later reuse the name "Kog" for King Kog.
