Line 9:
The Cybertronian civil war reignited on Earth, though both factions struggled with adapting to the strange energy resources of the planet. During a battle, the Decepticons kidnapped one of the [[:Category:Autobots|Autobots']] new human allies, {{TF|Sparkplug_Witwicky|Sparkplug Witwicky,}} under the belief he could convert fuel for them. What the Decepticons had no way of predicting was that the fortress would be infiltrated by the Autobot {{TF|Gears_(G1)|Gears}} and his new ally, the human superhero [[Spider-Man]]. Soundwave detected the intruders using his keen senses.<ref group=note>Soundwave looks just like Megatron for this panel. {{TF|Prisoner_of_War!#Artwork_and_technical_errors|Whoops!}}</ref> After Gears and Spider-Man bested {{TF|Ravage_(G1)/Marvel_Comics_continuity|Ravage,}} they were faced by Soundwave, who tried to zap the fast-moving wall-crawler with his blaster. This gave Gears the opportunity to clock Soundwave while telling him he had no friends. Leaving Soundwave unconscious, the two heroes went on to rescue Sparkplug. {{tfstorylink|Prisoner_of_War!|Prisoner of War!}}
