Omnus: Difference between revisions

Princess Ugly escorted Terry and friends to the wreck of the ''Space Warp'', where she explained how they had been frightened to approach it since its crash landing years ago. Terry searched the ship, with Robota and Omnus clearing the debris. Inside, they found the ''Space Warp''{{'}}s video log; though the video portion had been damaged by age, the audio track allowed Terry to hear his father's voice for the first time, and Omnus steadied him as he was brought to tears. The log detailed the ''Space Warp''{{'}}s attack by alien forces and the crew's subsequent escape to [[Planetoid 17-Z]]. Outside the ship, Terry explained to Princess Ugly that his parents might still be on 17-Z, understanding that they may not still be alive, and the two of them shared a sombre moment of empathy. Robota wasn't impressed with their bonding, and chivvied Terry into departing Gorkel, with Omnus wryly noting that robots weren't supposed to have feelings. He encouraged Terry to take off, determined they would find his parents, and told him he'd ensure nothing would get in their way.

After a time, Terry discovered the location of 17-Z and plotted a course he would carry out with "some special Planet Terry pilotting". This earned him a kiss on the cheek from Robota, causing Omnus to get a rise out of her by reminding her of Princess Ugly's affections. Terry broke up their squabbling and navigated to the planetoid. After they set down and found no signs of life, Terry was determined to keep looking – though Omnus privately doubted that crew had made it. Feeling like they were being followed, Terry whipped his head around and caught sight of two [[Chippa|squirrelly aliens]] who had been following them, and who hightailed it when he tried to talk. They were then ambushed by a [[Devourer]]. {{storylink|The Secret of the Space Warp}} Robota's ray beam attack failed to defeat it, and the Devourer turned to Terry and announced its intent to eat him, something Terry responded he was ready for. Instead, Omnus stepped between them, giving it his blue plate special of a knuckle sandwich with such force as to launch it over the horizon.

Omnus's defeat of the Devourer caused three aliens to come out of the woodwork and chitter excitedly in what Terry believed was a show of gratitude. Terry tried to communicate with them and tell them about their quest, but the aliens were left confused by the blank picture frame he showed them. Nonetheless, after consulting with each other, one of the aliens led the trio over a ridge, urgently pointing out two humanoid figures: Terry's parents.
