Jim Shooter (born September 27, 1951) is a comic book writer, editor, and publisher. He began his comic career aged 14. In 1978, Shooter became editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, instituting a revolutionary (if dictatorial) regime while Smilin' Stan Lee was in Los Angeles overseeing Marvel's animation, television, and film projects.
Shooter held the editor-in-chief position between 1978 and 1987, and is thus credited on the majority of TFUK's U.S. reprint content (though only as a consultant on Marv Wolfman's stuff, apparently). He was succeeded at the post by Tom DeFalco.
